In all of the great big blogosphere, there are so many amazing blogs. I’ve got several of my faves listed on my blogroll over to the right there but I’ve wanted to share my all time favorite for quite some time now. It’s called Not Always Right: Funny & Stupid Customer Quotes. It’s a site filled with contributions from people’s daily dealings working with the general public. Keep in mind this is a relatively new blog and this only represents probably 1/10000000000 conversations that go on like this on any given day.

I think having grown up in a tourist resort and from always having a job from a very young age that involved working with customers, I can completely appreciate every dumb comment listed on this site. I know I’ve even forgotten (or blocked out??) some of the crazy things I’ve heard and at one point (years ago) a co-worker and I wrote them all down in a notebook, but who knows what became of it. I typically have my instant messenger on throughout the day and today passed on a dumb comment to my friend Jenn that a woman made earlier this morning. She told me “That one may take the cake.” Until I told her what someone did yesterday and that one beat today’s!!!! By a landslide even.

I hope this doesn’t come across badly. I do love the majority of the people that I come across each day. You just can’t believe though how one stupid/ugly/rude/ignorant person can ruin what 100 lovely/kind/normal can say or do though.

Some time or another I signed up for e-mail updates on the web site of my favorite illustrator, Tasha Tudor. I sadly received an update this morning that she had passed away at the age of 92. It made me SOOO sad for some reason but it seems there has just been a rash of sad news lately: Tim Russert, Floods in Iowa–including a friend’s shop, a friend of a friend having a really awful run of bad luck & deaths in her family, there’s bad news every day.

Tonight I went to the boys’ room and pulled all the Tasha Tudor books off the book shelf–all of which were mine as a child except for 1. I don’t think boys appreciate it nearly as much….although they do love the more recent Corgi books she’s done. But for a half an hour I made them sit and put up with some of her lovely illustrations & stories.

The June 2008 issue of Wondertime Magazine featured our adorable little felt bags in their “Stuff We Love” section.

Feather Your Nest in Wondertime Magazine

I have to agree! They are just too sweet. As I’ve noted, there aren’t a lot of little girls in my life and we’ve all produced boys, but the few girls that we do know have their own little felt purses!

Kitchen Gloves & matching Scrubbies!

Look at yummy new colors of kitchen gloves that we received this week. After I photographed them originally, I noticed some of them matched our scrubbies perfectly!

Uh, YUM!! I found a new food addiction recently. (Like I needed another??) About a month ago we got a new shipment of Stonewall Kitchen in and ordered their new Artichoke Pesto. I pretty quickly cracked open the tester to try it and over a few weeks snacked on it with my favorite Pita Chips.

Then earlier in the week I cracked open jar #2 and it is already GONE. For "breakfast" this AM I practically licked the rest out of the jar. I won’t be opening another jar unless there are people around to share it with, I swear!!

While the gourmet products aren’t a huge online seller for us, I went ahead and added this and a few other new treats to the site. You could be like me and just scarf it straight out of the jar. Or you can add it to pasta or bruschetta as well.

Our new puppy, Sophie

If you’re not smiling now…..well then you must have a tiny black little heart! This is Sophie our new puppy. For now she’s at the shop with me but who knows where she’ll hang for the summer .

As typical for me, I started this post hours ago and am trying to finish & keep my eyes open at the same time. My allergies are bad this time of year and I’ve been dragging this week so I went back to my Vitamin Water (I should get a sponsorship after recommending them twice!!).

LOVE this stuff

Maybe it’s all in my head but yesterday I ran some errands with Mike and couldn’t keep my eyes open while he was driving but honestly within 15 minutes of drinking it, I was fine. Not ready to climb Mt. Everest or anything but not falling asleep sitting up.

Tomorrow is the last official day of school for the year!!! I’m sad that it went so fast, but excited to be able to relax and enjoy some free time!! I’ve actually started a book……I haven’t picked one up in far too long….but I always have to have one on the lake or at the pool. Maybe I’ll do some more stitching. Here’s my most recent project that I started ages ago and could never quite get through it, but it’s finally done!! We found this red & white apron for $1 at an estate sale and it was just far too plain!!

I know I’ve got the little “blogging without obligation” button over on the side bar over there —-> but I do feel like I should apologize for not posting more often. I’ve just been in a mood or a funk or I don’t know what. I think I went about 2 weeks straight where there was just constantly *something* going wrong. Nothing horrible or terrible or awful, which I *AM* thankful for….but it’s gotten a little frustrating & annoying. One example is, I waited 2 weeks for a chiropractor appointment and sunburned my back the day before. Yes, I wore sunscreen ONLY on my back and that’s the ONLY part that burnt. Have to wait another 8 days for an appt. It’s just every hour something dumb like that that’s given me a foul attitude.

But I think I’m over it, I’ve been kicked in the pants sufficiently. Today is a new day and I’m determined that funk is behind me!

So, I don’t have a lot of new exciting merchandise, we’re just reordering and restocking lately. We did get in some Swell Roses tablecloths& towel sets that match a bunch of our handmade aprons

Well apparently I have hundreds of stalkers because only TEN people actually entered this contest. I’d feel really bad about myself but I can see in my stats how many people actually read the blog page so instead I’m just feeling a little paranoid! That or you have no friends to send a gift to?

Alright, so the winner is………………..CATHY! who will be sending her winning package to Pam at blogcabinfever.typepad.com. A soon as I hear back from Cathy her package will be sent right out!
