I am overwhelmed.

I guess I should start with the news to those that may not know. On January 7th, my dear husband passed away at the age or 39. Heart attack. He was young, healthy, perfect and shockingly he is gone. I could write pages on the amazing person he was…..my knight in shining armor. He worked hard so I could live the dream of owning my own store. He was so proud of my many accomplishments and I know I couldn’t have done any of it without him behind me.

The reality of it all has yet to set in. I’m sure it will take some time. But I know the first big dose of reality is that I need a “real” job with a real salary that I can rely on no matter what, to support my boys. So the store has to close.

Yesterday an angel notified some wonderful bloggers who have posted the news on their blogs, sending many of you here for the first time. When the orders started pouring in, I was absolutely overwhelmed. Not with the fact that we have to *pack* that many orders, but the sheer love you’ve all shown for a complete stranger. What started as a day doing inventory, became a day of packing, packing, packing. I sent out an APB on boxes and packing peanuts via text message & help arrived.

Again, to those who have not come here via these blogs. The entire store is on sale, 25% off. Prices are not shown, the discount will be deducted from your cart.

There is so much more I want to say, but right now I will just say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the love, support, and prayers. They are felt & appreciated.

    Gina,

I had to write to say I am so so sorry for your loss. I cried when I read your entry. I also have to tell you that my dad died when he was 39 of a heart attack. I was three years old. It is very painful to this day, but I wanted to let you know that not only have my brother and I survived it but we thrived. I pray for you and your family. Hang in there.

    Gina,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my husband July 17, 2008. He was 47 and was killed in a tragic accident. I still have 2 young children at home.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to vent, or just want to talk to someone who has been and is going through what you are, I am certainly here for you.

I know your heart is broken and you feel totally overwhelmed with all the responsibility. You will get through it. It is the hardest thing ever, but you can make it. Lean on the Lord, your friends and your family. Let people help you and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

You are in my heart and my prayers.

    Gena

I heard of your sad news from the lettered cottage’s blog. I am so sorry. On Dec. 2nd my dad surprisingly passed away from a heart attack also. He also was perfectly healthy and was actually at the dr. he day before for a standard check up and his dr. was just as surprised as us with his passing. I wish Murfreesboro, Tn is closer to you because I am sure you and my mom could be a good support for each other. I will keep you in my prayers. When you feel ready two books someone gave to us were a big help. 90 minutes in heaven and Heaven by Randy Alcorn. You only need to read the first 3 chapters in the 90 minutes in heaven and I only cared to read the first half of the heaven book (it is really big). Again, I am so sorry.

    Dear Gina,

I know love is forever and life is eternal and death is nothing but a horizon. And a horizon is nothing more than the limit of our eyesight.

I hope your heart hears what words cannot say.

  19. Traci Says:

Gina, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your husband sounded like an amazing man. I am the mother of four boys, and I just lost my mother to gastric cancer this past September. The pain in your heart is beyond words, I know. At times it is hard to even breathe. I want you to know that I am on my knees as I write this, and I will be lifting you and your sweet boys up to the Lord in prayer. May He fill you with a peace that is beyond understanding. Some words that my mom said before she passed away that brought us all comfort was, “I may not understand God, but I trust Him.”
I will continue to pray for you.

    Hi,
I lost my Dad the same way just a couple of months ago. I pray the Lord will be close to you as you handle the many things that need to get done. My encouragement is that each day is a little better, do it one at a time, don’t worry about tomorrow or how you will survive then. Soon, these sad memories will begin to fade and you will be left with wonderful times you shared together. Praying for you.

    Dear Gina and sons,

I lost my father suddenly to a heart attack also. he was 49 and as far as we knew in perfect health. Though I cannot fathom your pain in losing your husband, I absolutely know the pain of suddenly losing a father. I read about this, and felt compelled to say something, and yet as I sit here, I can think of nothing, b/c there simply are no words. Please know that I am holding you all close to my heart. May your memories comfort you and help you at this difficult time.
