Happy Memorial Day! I’m actually at the shop today, making up for going on the 2nd grade field trip tomorrow. But it’s dark & raining & pretty quiet so I thought to celebrate the first unofficial weekend of summer I’d give away a set of 6 12″ red polka dot melamine plates!
You know the drill, leave a comment to enter. If you blog it, twitter it, facebook it, stumble it, whatever….leave another comment for another entry! Enter until Friday at 11:59pm & I’ll draw the winner on Saturday morning!
CONTEST IS CLOSED!

Once again I’ve just abandoned the blog for weeks. Of course it’s the end of school year chaos for everyone so that’s a big part of it, but I think the biggest problem is I Twitter! Now I’ve actually Twittered for 2 years–two years ago this very week–so it probably doesn’t sound like a valid excuse. But nowadays everyone Twitters! Or at least know what Twitter is. So I can send out one little tweet…….a quick 140 characters…….in a matter of seconds, and get a big response. Or I can pull up the site, log into wordpress, upload photos to the blog……..or to Flickr…..get distracted, try to think of something entertaining to fill a bit of space………you get the idea!
So I’m not dumping the blog by any means, but I just wanted to mention it here to make sure all my friends here are following me on Twitter. And make sure that I’m following you in return. Either leave your Twitter user name in the comments or just tweet me and I’ll make sure I’m following you too.
And since I did go *all this trouble* here are a couple of new tablecloths!
Also LOTS of new aprons being uploaded as quickly as possible!

We just received a large shipment of “permanent botanicals” (the fancy way of saying fake flowers!) in the shop recently. If you don’t have a green thumb, or like me, putting flowers out is just an expensive way to feed the deer, these adorable little bud vases will make it look like you have a secret garden somewhere.
I promise I’ll be back soon with more new & exciting things. Right now I’m busy with lots of this:

I know, I know…..I’ve disappeared yet again. I’m kind of in a rut….bored with the internet. I know it doesn’t seem possible. I can’t think of anything exciting to say, I’m not a person who can blather on about herself for days–definitely not a strong point of mine.
I did go to market since the last post & ordered some new things, but none of the really *fun* stuff will be here for a month & I just don’t have it in me to bore you with the florals that I bought. It’s also that time of year where I’m running from one thing to another every single day–soccer, baseball, meetings, events.
I did want to share a recent site that has popped up. It’s called the 3/50 Project & encourages you to shop at your local brick & mortar stores and support them. Please check it out and do what you can. I realize I’m not “local” to the majority of my readers out there but I am still an independent, woman-owned, brick & mortar retail store, so I say it counts if you order from us online as well!!!
Please keep this in mind next time you’re looking for a gift or buying a special treat for yourself.

The bad news is, the ruffled cake stands, platters, compotes and cachepots from Potluck Studios are being discontinued. I’m so sad about this….for 2 reasons: Business-wise, they are a great seller. Personally, they’re one of my favorite things in the store….and I have several of the pieces at home.
BUT, the good news is when I heard this bad news, I freaked out and ordered as much as I thought my back room could hold. Keep in mind, I don’t have a warehouse or off-site storage, I just have the back room of the shop! It’s not that big! So if you’ve drooled over this lovely pottery before, now is the time to get it before it’s gone forever!
